Business Book Club
The EWN Business Book Club was launched in September 2007 to provide members with another means to acquire information and share ideas about issues that can contribute to their business success. Membership of the Club and attendance at meetings are free. The books that are read are often suggested by members of the club, and the monthly meeting is an informal and welcoming environment where members can share with others the lessons they have learned from the book, as well as challenge the principles put forward by the book.
The Club normally meets once a month, over a brown-bag lunch, in a local public library; details of the precise time and location of each meeting are published in the EWN newsletter, Network News.
Books recently read cover a broad swath of business issues, including:
- Excelling at customer service: Hug Your Customer: The Proven Way to Personalize Sales and Achieve Astounding Results by Jack Mitchell.
- Presenting your point clearly: Make Your Point! Speak Clearly and Concisely Anyplace, Anytime by Bob Elliott and Kevin Carroll.
- Business etiquette: Don’t Take the Last Donut: New Rules of Business Etiquette by Judith Bowman
- Zeroing in on critical tasks: Eat That Frog! 21 Great Ways to Stop Procrastinating and Get More Done in Less Time By Brian Tracy.
