Do you have a story or unique business angle you want to convey to customers or other businesses? Communications and publishing can be the keys you need to open the door to take your business to the next level. 

In Part I of a two-section EWN Morning Workshop series on “How to Get Published,” Deirdre Silberstein and Ellin Yassky will utilize over 55 years of combined writing and publishing knowledge to focus attendees on publishing avenues such as articles, books, blogs, and social networking sites to boost exposure and increase business. 

Ms. Silberstein and Ms. Yassky will help attendees determine the right communications tools for their businesses. Discussion points will be:

• Are you being quoted in newspapers and magazines?
• What is stopping you from blogging?  
• Do you want to publish a book on-line or off-line?
• How do you attract followers on Twitter?
• And, most importantly, are you ready to take your business to the next level?

Attendees will delve into how to build images and reputations through publishing and effective communications, how to create a compelling message, the latest tools available, and how to create a marketing program.

Deidre Silberstein, a 30-year veteran in the writing and publishing world, is the President of Silberstein & Associates LLC (www.silbersteinassociates.com), a Stamford-based business writing and publishing consulting firm.  She works with companies, professional services firms, and entrepreneurs who want to grow their businesses through publishing materials that demonstrate, educate, and feature their capabilities, knowledge, and areas of specialization. Ms. Silberstein worked in the publishing industry in New York, acquiring and developing books and educational materials. A move to the corporate world enabled her to establish and run a publishing and communications program for a global professional services firm. Ms. Silberstein received her BA in History (with honors) from Stanford University and her MBA in Marketing and Management from Columbia Business School.

Ellin Yassky is the Principal at Medici Editorial Services LLC (www.medicieditorial.com), an editorial and book packaging firm specializing in illustrated books.  For more than 25 years, Ms. Yassky has been creating the finest illustrated books, taking them from concept to completed copy.  She has worked closely with many well-respected authors, art historians, and scholars in a wide variety of disciplines, including social history, art history, natural history, and Judaic studies.  Over the years, Ms. Yassky has produced more than 70 publications, many of them award-winning titles.  She received her Ph.D. in Arts Administration from New York University.
