Growing a Business that Suits You!
As I write this letter, we’re all shivering through an Arctic blast, with sub-zero wind chills. I’m wrapping myself in my fourth layer of clothing and praying that my car will start, and I can’t imagine that it will ever be warm again.
When you read this letter, it will be March. The snowdrops will be up, and there may even be a hint of warmth in the air. Any good business letter writer should pick up on the coming of spring and new growth, and suggest that we nurture our businesses and make them grow, as well.
Wait a second! I’ve always wondered whether the analogy is that simple. I suggest that it’s not enough to make your business grow; it’s just as important to make sure that the growth is in the right direction. Maybe you’re thinking outside of the box, but are you thinking outside of the correct side?
It takes hard work, time, and good insight to look at our businesses, analyze them, and decide whether we’re doing what we should be doing. While we’re bringing new and exciting things to our lives and our businesses, are they the right things?
I believe that we are all individuals with our own interests, ways of doing things, and ways of achieving success. I believe that the more we know ourselves and know what’s right for us, the easier it will be to make our businesses grow in ways that suit us and make us happy.
So expand the box you’re in…but only in ways you’re comfortable with. Plant new seeds to make your business grow…but make sure you want those particular flowers. By planting the right seeds for the crops we want, we will create beauty and abundance for us and for our businesses.
